We organized the Inter-School Painting, Quiz & Dance Competitions for The Deaf Cum Helen Keller Student Awards on the occasion of commemorate of the 52nd International Week of the Deaf in Fr. Agnel School, Gautam Ngar, New Dlhi on 21st November, 2009.

These are competitions being organized by us annually to encourage all deaf students of deaf schools in Delhi. The children are able to enjoy the thrill of going to a competition irrespective of their financial status and disability. They just forget their disability and enjoy themselves; it is a heartwarming experience.

The winners of the Painting Competition are:

Senior Group:
First Prize: Pallavi Rani; Premala Bai Chavan School for Deaf
Second Prize: Savita Rani; Premala Bai Chavan School
Third Prize: Renu Kohli; Govt. Nursery Primary School for the Deaf

Junior Group:
First Prize: Gauri; Premala Bai Chavan School for Deaf
Second Prize: Sonu; Govt. Nursery Primary School for the Deaf
Third Prize: Deepti; Govt. Nursery Primary School for the Deaf

This year the award function was chaired by Guest of Honours Ms. Prabha Shah (Deaf Artist), Ms. Rati Mishra(Country Alliance Resource), Mr. Arun C. Rao (Executive Director,The Deaf Way Foundation), Mr. Anuj Jain (Secretary, The Deaf Way Foundation). They all gave valuable insights on various issues of the Deaf.

Mr. Anuj Jain, Secretary of The Deaf Way Foundation gave a presentation on the activities of "The Deaf Way Foundation". After the function, refreshments were served. We also had a variety of materials related to "The Deaf Way Foundation" and "National Association of the Deaf" for display to sale. The function was a great sucess as we had an audience of above 500 people who joined us to make it a memorable evening.
