The weather was just right at the India gate and the crowd turned up right on time. a few thousand folks, a lot of them from the deaf community like 70%. testimony to the inaccessible indian transport system. The event went off great. some cute performances from the NAB kids. little blind kids dancing was really something to see.

In the afternoon the NAD set up for their rally and demonstration targeting the Planing Commission. The 3 thousand odd deaf crowd stormed the gates and took over the entire parking lot. It was really tense and exciting and crazy all at once.

Dr Ahluwalia met us after some time and was not very forthcoming beyond saying that he would include our complaints and observations in the mid term review.

then after an hour or so Mr Mukul Wasnik called and said he would like to meet us. That mtg was far more fruitful in many ways. He has given us a follow up mtg on 14th and this will be the time when we are able to impress upon him the issues for the deaf in the Plan.

So good news so far. its a long way to go for the real changes to come but hopefully a beginning will be made.
